SUMMARY:

Many people travel long distances for work and pay little attention to cost because the main agenda is to get wherever they are going as quickly as possible. This is ideal for the hustle and bustle of the business world but when it comes to traveling for pleasure speed is not the priority.

Most people yearn to go to somewhere special. A land far away that “someday” they would like to visit. Tuscany in the fall, Vienna in the spring, South Africa, China, Alaska, the list of possibilities is endless. These are the dreams of retirement; however it also helps to have good health and financial resources. Even if this is the case, by the time people reach their late fifties and early sixties the desire to trek across cities to site see is not as appealing as when one's body was fit. Burning bunions and aching hips do not make for pleasant memories when walking through unfamiliar streets.

There is a solution! Take the train. Not just any train but a luxury train. The cabins, the variety of journeys, the services and the extensive attention to detail all spells luxury and is certainly comparable to what you might find on a cruise ship. If you've had the pleasure than you'll know personal service is first and foremost. There are many advantages to taking the train. For starters there are no air pockets, turbulence and you can actually see the country side out the window.

A number of years ago I traveled to Germany and Austria. At that point my health condition limited my walking and at age 30 I begun using a scooter full-time for long distances. I was reluctant at first but this proved to be freeing and expanded my abilities ten fold. Had I not used a scooter I could not have traveled independently. I also traveled by train. It was not considered to be a luxury train but I found it to be a wonderful way to see the countryside with ease.

If you have any doubts that traveling by train can be luxurious look through the web pages of the www.luxurytrainclub.com. Many destinations such as China, India, South Africa and our own Canada, to name only a few, are elegantly presented as relaxing journeys that are bound to be memorable experiences. Don't let your “someday” get by you because you can't walk as far, or maybe walk at all. Full wheelchair access is not clearly outlined but whenever high levels of customer service are offered, accommodations and other services can be catered too at length. Riding these plush rails just may be my next “someday” holiday wish. All Aboad!
